Please, *please* Perfume Gods - let them live up to my expectations. Let this be a first step toward restoring Dior's good name in the perfume world. Let Dior-Dior be released next.

oooo-oooo--oooo. My prayers are with Elle's. Let them be good--no, let them be great!! With a limited distribution, they could do it!

I forgot to mention--when I was in NY I saw signs all over saying that Project Runway starts on Nov. 14. I'm sure you've seen them too! Can't wait for that, either!:)

Dearie me !
May these be good...
I'll pass on the supermodels, though- thanks.

Marinochka-
Will you be my supermodel ?
That's more like it.

Am I the only one w/ basically no expectations at all? I mean, Dior almost *had* to do this, because everyone else is. And seriously, they list the "inspirations" as Stella Tennant for #4, Kate Moss for #8, and Gisele Bundchen for #9.

If the juice ain't spectacular, then Dior will be done.

Oh...I agree with Tom.....The bottles are beautiful. Being a long time devotee of Diorissimo I would love to see these be great. I haven't really enjoyed a Dior release in a long time!

@ elle

Restore Dior's good name in the fragrance world? Someone's forgetting Dior Homme and Bois d'Argent methinks..

Faizan,
You're very right. After I posted that I immediately thought I should have specified the feminine scents from Dior. They've done some incredible men's scents.

L,
There have to be very, very good, if not outstanding, to make up for the Poison flankers and Midnight Charm and...my brain refuses to remember what else, but there are plenty.

J,
I already set up my DVR to tape the first episode :-))))

Ida,
I think I am couple of inches short of being anyone's supermodel :-)
Project Runway is not about supermodels though, it is about aspiring fashion designers and I'd highly recommend it :-)

R,
I am so glad Moss is #8, the one that interests me the least. Because whatever she is having I won't be having :-)
I truly have to expectation at all, anymore, but I try to hype myself up a little, else it is so depressing :-)

Tom,
Yep, if they can't even get an "exclusive" collection right then...I don't know...it would be sad.

Divalano,
Yes it does!!

Beth,
Same here, not feminine new releases anyway. As Faizan points out below, some of Dior's "masculine" scents have been stellar.

Faizan,
Up until now Dior has done no wrong in the masculine scents department, except for that Fahrenheit flanker with a number in its name (32?). I love and wear the two fragrances that you mention, as well as Eau Noire and Cologne Blanche.

Blogger Marina said...

L,
Indeed. Eau Sauvage, Jules, Fahrenheit, Dior Homme, the three EDCs...amazing, right? Now it's time to do right for us girls too :-)

Slimane - real talent - good perfumes.
Galliano - fill in the blank - crap perfumes.
I hope it's not as simple as that, but I also hope galliano had no real hand in these trio.
The farenheit flanker is so bad they could bottle it in the round bottle and resell it as next year's Poison.

Edwardian,
Yep, and Slimane is gone now, so who knows what'll start happening.
And I think they do say Galliano had something to do with this three new scents...

I am with R on this one, although I hope that I am wrong. To see yet another rose, iris and tuberose seems like a redux of all the trends we have seen. The bottles, on the other hand, are stunning! So, let's hope that Galliano will not let us down. :)

But, unfortunately have you seen the price ?

For a bottle of 75 ml it is 320 euros (about 400 USD) !!!!!

That is a bad dream

Aryse,
Yes, the price bites.

I can't understand this everlasting Kate Moss hype : there is hardly anybody more gross & repulsive in the whole cat-walk-world! This is quite a minus for Dior !

M,
I have never understood and never will understand that hype.
